I had the same problem as some of the other reviews. The battery life is very short. I went through 2 of these in less than 6 months. The second one actually started burning one day when plugged in. Luckly I was in the bathroom when it started smoking and then the plastic started melting around the battery compartment. I quicky unplugged and submerged in water to stop the burning. I would not advise anyone to leave this unattended while charging.

I was excited for the first couple months by this product, however, I have gone through two of them and they stop holding a charge. I have tried everything suggested and nothing works. I have also tried the Panasonic oral irrigator and that too stopped working. I wish I could find a similar product that works.

Ive been a Water Pik user for many, many years. I (and my gums) cant live without one. The standard models are, indeed, clumsy counter space hogs. This one is not. You wont have the tipping and spilling problems the bigger models provide. My complaint is that this water pik simply doesnt hold enough water. I have to fill it four times to do my mouth... and my mouth isnt that big. This ones going in my travel case and Im in the market for a big sloshy one again.

My experience with this unit is identical to one of the earlier reviewers. The unit was fine for some time, than water somehow damaged the battery although I made sure to keep it dry and clean and the socket for the charger tightly sealed. After going through two of these units in less than six months it would really be dumb to trust this product for the third time.

Last year, my dentist told me to buy a Water-Pik. This model seemed to be the best buy. Ive had a problem with charges not lasting long, but now, the power button has to be pressed repeatedly before it works, then it has to be held, as it will no longer stay on without being held. It is very hard to use this way. I cant send it back, as I cant find the slip. I cant really afford to buy another one, but I cant afford to lose my teeth, either. I hope to find a better model.

This is my favorite discovery since the sonic toothbrush. I keep mine in the shower. Just fill and rinse. Only needs a recharge once every ten-or-so uses. Soooo satisfying. A must-have for anyone with teeth.

This replaces the same waterpik I purchased a few years ago that suddenly broke down. I went with the same brand because my dentist recommended this brand far above others for help removing plaque. I prefer this model over other larger ones because it takes up less room in a small bathroom (smaller footprint)

For me this was exactly what I was looking for. Dentist says I need to use a waterpik, and I hated having the bulky unit with the water well on my countertop. This is a little bigger than my rechargable toothbrush. Definitely enough power, and enough water to do the job. I can do my entire mouth on one fill-up of water. I have had it for over two weeks now, and only recharged once.

A cordless gadget you can use in the shower is a great idea. But the battery in this thing is really poor. Ive gone through two of these now, and Ill have to buy something different. The first one was great at first, then worked for shorter and shorter periods after recharging. (Yes, I ran the battery all the way down before recharging to avoid the Nicad memory effect.) The central post in the socket where you plug in the charger corroded away after a month and a half. Bought a second one, and was careful to keep the socket dry. But it still works for shorter and shorter periods. Now it wont even last for one session after charging overnight. Buying a 3rd would be too dumb even for someone as stubborn as me.

I got this because I thought it would be more powerful and better than the Conair that I had. It is more powerful but the water reservoir is so small that you must keep refilling it again and again if you are going to do as the instructions suggest and spent 5 seconds on each tooth. The water reservoir is less than half the size of the Conair that I already had and it probably empties in around 5 seconds. After refilling and refilling and refilling I put this thing back in the box and shoved it away, I went back to using my Conair.

just got one and was excited that its cordless, but it doesnt hold enough water and its a hassle to fill through the small tall container on the side. Im going back to the plug in one that has the very large water container and smaller unit to hold in your mouth also

Review of WaterPik WP-360 H Cordless Dental Water Jet

Having gone through a Braun and two Panasonic oral irrigators, plus a magnetic oral irrigator from an American company I dont remember, all in a matter of little more than a year -- I just purchased this nice Waterpik One-Piece Rechargeable.

Reading the instructions, it says to rinse with vinegar if clogs occur, so maybe this is the problem thats affected all my irrigators. Well see if this unit holds up better than the others -- or whether I can restore it in case of failure with vinegar.

Otherwise, this unit is larger than the Panasonic one-piece -- its about the size of an electric carving knife, if anyone remembers what those were like -- and it seems more powerful than that unit. The reservoir and power handle come apart, which gives you more flexibility in packing, so I cant imagine the size being a problem for travelers.

You have a choice of two basic water jet intensities depending on which tip you use -- you get two of each intensity, and additional tips are available from Waterpik.

I like the fact that this unit is rechargeable, with an overnight charge supposedly yielding a week of irrigation.

About the only improvement I can think of would be rubberized grips on the body to make the unit easier to hold, but it hasnt slipped from my grasp so far.

So well see if this Waterpik proves more reliable than the other brands. Otherwise this is a powerful irrigator in a convenient, easy-to-use one-piece design. Recommended.

Addendum several months later. one caveat I want to add is that the nicad battery here REALLY seems to suffer from memory effect. That is, the battery gets lazy very quickly, reducing the amount of battery life you get between charges. The answer, as any nicad user knows, is to let the unit discharge completely -- let the sucker run down until it stops. Then turn it off, charge it up -- and youll have decent battery life for several weeks again.

Im not sure what to say to the other users who found the reservoir too small. Though smaller than the reservoir on a standard sinktop unit, the reservoir here is larger than the one on the little Panasonic one-piece model, and I find that I can do the outside of my teeth and gums with one water refill, and the inside with another. I dont know why anyone would need more, but then I am also using a Braun Oral B Sonic Toothbrush, which also does a great job stimulating the gums.
