In Kansas, once a year, they have a free dental clinic weekend. It is usually held in Salina, which is about the middle of the state. It is great. The only problem with it is, those who already receive dental care through medicaid go there, instead of a dentist throughout the year in their own area, hence, those who really need the clinic usually do not get seen even after waiting approx. 4-5 hrs per day in line. But those fortunate enough to get to see a dentist get fantastic care from a dentist who has donated his time for the weekend to help with this worthwhile clinic. Ususally around 15-25 dentists from around the state take part in this as well as dental hygenist (sp), and other dental area workers. My hats off to Kansas. "

Within one year, she had taken on the managerial role of dental director.
