Billings dentist Dr. Chris McDonald was recently honored by the Montana Dental Association with its 2007 T. T. Rider Award at the associations annual meeting. The T. T. Rider Award was established by MDA in 1969 in honor of Dr. Thomas Thiel Rider to recognize Montana dentists for outstanding service to the profession and their community. McDonald has served in every capacity in the Ninth District Dental Society, including the presidency. He has also served on the Montana Dental Association board of directors. A native of Butte, he earned his DDS degree in 1969 from Marquette University School of Dentistry. Recently retired, he practiced dentistry in Billings for 35 years.

Like a growing number of dentists offices around the country, Green Apple Dental offers spa-like amenities to make going to the dentist more palatable. Some procedures, such as the paraffin treatment, are offered without charge during dental appointments; others, such as acupuncture, massage therapy and facials, take place in a separate space, called Apple Wellness.

After several months, the board hired Dr. Robert Burns, a dentist from Fredericktown, to see uninsured dental patients at the clinic on Thursdays, which is Burns day off.
