2010-08-31 State suspends dental license in Richmond Hill

The suspension means Roberts is not allowed to practice dentistry until a hearing before the state Board of Dentistry and any further proceedings are held. It is unclear if Roberts has yet requested an expedited hearing with the board, which must be filed with the Office of State Administrative Hearings in Atlanta.

A Richmond Hill dentist has been shut down by the state following allegations of substance abuse and the mishandling prescriptions for controlled medications.

According to an Order of Summary Suspension from the Georgia Board of Dentistry, the state practicing license for Dr. Alfred B. Roberts III was suspended Friday.
